Transitioning into Autumn with Abundance

The "Planting by the Moon" talk gave me a  deeper understanding on how to use the moon calendar when doing my planting.  Tracey was very clear in her explanation as clarity and simplicity is important to me. Looking forward to learning more from her. -L

Most of the group decided to order this year's Moon Calendar from https://www.creativecronies.co.nz/ and apply Tracey's shared wisdom to our daily lives, in and out the garden. We were 6 diligent and attentive attendees, 10 Timebank hours exchanged and one possible new member understanding the amazing possibilities of a Timebank membership.

But wait there was more ...

since my last blog ( me, being Barbara, your local coordinator for Whangaroa-Kerikeri ):

Two amazingly abundant CropSwaps in Kerikeri and Kaeo happened end of February and beginning of March (I'll share the Kaeo Caldendar in my next blog) and the below images probably speak for themselves.

Great crop swap in kaeo yesterday. Lovely to see the children, more of them than usual, all contentedly occupied. Some playing chess followed by a magic show with clay ( thanks clay) not to mention snakes and ladders etc. Wonderful. Our core group is getting larger. I thank those who working bee's the outside area we use. It's lovely to see our fireplace area clean and unwieldy etc. Chantel and sandy are great facilitators for kaeo crop swap. Seeing everyone socializing during shared meal time is a bonus to me. Kaeo ecohub is honored to host those monthly crop swaps. - Maureen
Last Saturday we had a lovely afternoon swap, and also connected with Primrose Summer butterfly enthusiast. She shared some interesting info on the Admiral Butterfly and gave us a look at the eggs, caterpillars, chrysalis and.. I saw an actual Admiral in the garden before everyone arrived! If anyone is interested in growing nettles for the Admirals, please let us know and we can put you in touch with Primrose, she is happy to provide some nettles to start your patch and to provide mentoring along the way. - Asha

I don't know about you but I am feeling increasingly enriched, abundant, connected and I'm loving Timebank more every day.

We're all getting pretty busy here, it seems ... and some very very cool ideas being hatched for the community to do with 'sustainable food production' AND Kerikeri will have its very own Repair Cafe starting this month AND I am hearing about some awesomeness being created by the Far North Resilient Communities CT (an organisational Timebank member) and their "Resilience Month" offerings in April.

Until next time - Make sure to check out "Offers" and "Requests" on your Timeoverflow app. Happy exchanging!

Barbara
